She will have more expectations placed upon her. However, she will also have an increased attention span and start seeing other people’s points of view.
She will also become more independent from her family and have stronger friendships that, while complex, become the center of her world. When you are shopping for a 10-year-old girl who is either going through these changes or about to, you should consider them when buying her present.
If you are more concerned about the learning aspect, you might want to buy learning toys and activities, STEM toys, or art supplies. Artistic presents can help her be creative and allow her an activity to lessen her stress levels. At this age, she will start feeling stress and anxiety about school, family, and friendships.
Social and emotional changes are a big deal. If she has a friend group that is important to her, you might want to think about how they spend their time together and get her toys, activities, and games that they can do together.
Of course, the other way to shop is to simply focus on who she is as a person. What does she like? What are her hobbies and interests? If you know she loves being active, maybe get her something new to try, like a skateboard or rollerskates.
